BHARAT HEAVY ELECTRICALS LTD.


1st unit set up in Bhopal in August 1956. B.H.E.L. is the largest engineering and manufacturing enterprise in India in the energy/infrastructure sector with strong man force of 82000 people. DRY TYPE TRANSFORMER

The major components of Dry Type transformers are: Core Winding Epoxy Resin Fiber Glass Mat Fiber Glass End Blocks and Cylinders Enclosure Marshalling Box Epoxy Bushings and Insulators Temperature Scanner and PT-100.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF DTT:


1): WindingsCopper conductor is used for the winding of both LV & HV. After the winding wound coils are placed in separate steel mould.

2): CastingCasting is done by utilizing the unique properties offered by pure liquid epoxy system. 3): Cutting and Dressing
4): Assembly of Transformer

TRACTION TRANSFORMERS

All assemblies, requirement of material & components and process for manufacture for traction transformers is similar to power transformers. Traction transformer require special HV cable bushing termination to connect to overhead catenary. All the material & stages of manufacture of traction transformer are inspected by RDSO & require their approval.

ESP TRANSFORMERS

The major components of ESP transformers are, Core Winding Tank & Fabricated fittings & Accessories Thermometer Box Oil (in few cases Silicone Oil) Radiators (in few cases) Bushings Instruments Pressure relief valve, Buchholz relay. Magnetic oil Gause, Diode stack, Resistor board, Shunt resistor, Glow tube

INSTRUMENT TRANSFORMER

The major components of Instrument Transformers are, Hollow porcelain Insulated Primary conductor (Cu tube, Al tube, PICC) Secondary winding on Ring Cores & C cores (Synthetic Enamel Round Copper wires) Tank & Top chamber Assembly Primary Terminal & Secondary Epoxy board, Pressure Relief Device
