We use the future simple. a) For predictions about the future, usually with the verbs hope , think, believe, expect, imagine, etc, the expresions Im sure, Im afraid, etc and the adverbs probably, perhaps, etc. Examples: I think shell get very angry . I expect the weather will be fine tomorrow . Hell probably stay in bed today.

b) For promises. I wont tell anybody. I promise. Ill call you . I promise c) For on the spot decisions. Im bored here . Ill go to the cinema. Someone is knocking the door. Ill open it. d) For threats. Stop talking or Ill punish you.

Negative form :

Use We use be going to : a) To talk about our future plans and intentions. Hes going to play tennis tomorrow morning. (= Hes planning to ) b) To make predictions based on what you see or know. Its going to rain . There are dark clouds in the sky. ( I can see the clouds.)

BUT We use will to make predictions based on what we think or imagine. I think hell pass his second English practice.
