OUR PROPOSAL..
A Metro rail system, which would be cost effective for the Mumbai multitude Provide mass transit services to people within a distance of 1 to 2 km, and to serve the areas not connected by the existing Suburban Rail network Focus on the development of an environmentally friendly system
No Land acquisition and litigation costs Noise levels reduced Architectural & Service quality of urban environment Safety and security in urban environment Operation and maintenance cost of underground system very less because it is unaffected by bad weather conditions Underground metro electrification system has less number of components and very simple design structures as compare to overhead electrification system Underground metro projects are easily funded by World Bank with very low interest rates at free of Custom Duty and because they reduce large amount of Co2 emission done by vehicles
MUMBAI METRO
Total Project cost - Rs 2356 Cr. First phase - 2006-11 Commencement of Operations- 2009-10 Mass transit corridor from Andheri to Ghatkopar First MRTS project in India being implemented on Public Private Partnership (PPP)
Owing to the presence of the metro rail in Delhi pollution level has gone down by 6.3 lakh tones annually
