Why do we do it?
One of the biggest questions to answer. Why do we do it, if it harms us? Why do we do it, after it keeps harming us? Why does it have so much power over us time and time again?

Ruthless Comforter
It comes kissing us on the cheek like Judas, giving us pleasure, but also the pain. Addiction is a yoke that convinces us we must wear it to survive. Nothing makes us feel more powerless. This ruthless stronghold is a struggle to everyone, even the faithful. There is no one who is safe by its grasp.

Accepting Defeat
The main binding effect the addiction has is that you are POWERLESS to overcome it. You have tried so many times, and yet you still cannot stop. It is unavoidable the grasp that it has on you. You will continue to have this struggle your ENTIRE life Your only relief will only come when you enter the gates of heaven. Earthly bound

10

Self Loathing
Guilt is a powerful tool to keep you stuck. The Sadness you feel that you cannot overcome this stronghold creates a downward spiral of self loathing. Im bad, Im weak, Im conquered Then you decide to accept it about yourself BOOM! = DEFEATED
11

He doesnt have to win

The primary focus of this entire study is that you dont have to believe the king of Lies.
Dont believe the LIAR!

What if you believed your Heavenly Father instead of the liar?

You would believe that you have the ability to conquer this stronghold. So why dont we believe Gods word?
12

To the Core
Why dont we believe Gods Word? Say it out loud Because we choose not to

Chant this:
I DO BELIEVE GODS WORD OVER MY ENTIRE LIFE! GOD CAN SET ME FREE I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE IT!
13

God Requirements
What God requires from you is:
Trust Cooperation
Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart TRUSTS in Him, and I am helped! 2 Corinthians 12:9 Lord, You have said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs power may rest on me. Romans 8:31 If God is for us, who can be against us?
14

How can we Trust & Cooperate?

Involves MIND

THINKING ???? HOW???

Prepare Your Mind For Action & ?

The Indo-Europeans used mind as the seat of thinking, the Egyptians, Semites and other people in what is now the Near East imagined Heart to be the seat of thinking. With the Semitic religions - Judaism, Christianity, Islam and now Baha'ism dominating the world for the last 1700 years, the word HEART, used approximately 300 times in the Bible means "Intellect, Mind.

In the Avesta and Vedic Sanskrit, it stands for MIND, intellect, intelligence, understanding, perception, sense, conscience, will; in fact, all the mental powers

1 Pet.1:13-14 Heb. 11:7

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.

By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

Action: Prov. 23:7 - "As a man thinks in his soul, so is he (in behavior)

We Must Prepare To. . . .

Love God (Mk. 12:30). Willfully serve God (1 Ch. 28:9). Have our minds set on God's interests rather than mans interests (Matt. 16:23; Matt. 6:24-34; Phil. 4:4-9). Our minds shouldn't be set on evil (Col. 3:5; Heb. 10:22; 3 Jn. 1:11). Our minds should be set on things above (Col. 3:1-4). Do God's work (Neh. 4:6; Eph. 2:10; 2 Tim. 2:21). Seek knowledge (Pr. 15:14; 18:15; 22:17). Not defile ourselves (Jas. 1:27; Dan. 1:8; 2 Tim. 2:22). Be humble rather than haughty (Phil. 2:3; Rom. 12:16). Fight the spiritual war (Eph. 6:10-18; 2 Tim. 4:7-8).

17

We Can't Control Our Bodies Without Controlling Our Minds?

Jesus points out that -Sin begins in our minds -- We think it, then We do it.
"But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man" (Matt. 15:18-20). Therefore Jesus says, "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery'; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matt. 5:27-28). Paul explains, saying, "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please" (Gal. 5:16-17).

How Do We Prepare Our Minds? 5***** Factors

*
Study, learn, and apply God's word (Heb. 5:11-14; 2 Tim.3:16-17).
Like newborn babies, we long for the pure milk of the word, so that we may grow in respect to salvation (1 Pet.1:2). The gospel is God's power unto salvation (Rom. 1:16). His word performs its work in those who believe (1 Th. 2:13). God's word equips us for every good work. It's profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

19

How Do We Prepare Our Minds? 5***** Factor

**

Renew our minds (Rom. 12:2). We conform our minds to the doctrine of Christ, through knowledge revealed in God's word (Rom. 12:1-2; Col.3:10). We diligently put Christ's doctrine into practice, whereby God abundantly supplies an entrance into the eternal kingdom of Christ (2 Pet. 1:3-11).

*** Simulated to love and good works (Heb. 10:24-25). Holy, remaining sober in spirit, fixing our hope on God's grace, not **** conformed to lusts (1 Pet. 1:13-16). the whole armor of God ***** Put onrighteousness, gospel of (Eph. 6:10-18). Truth, peace, faith, salvation, God's
word, and prayer.
