Tcnica exploratoria
El rin derecho se visualiza mejor con el paciente decbito supino o en decbito lateral izquierdo utilizando el hgado como ventana acstica.

El rin izquierdo se explora en decbito lateral derecho utilizando el bazo o el estmago lleno de lquido como ventana acstica.

Rin normal
Elptico en las imgenes longitudinales. La longitud del rin derecho vara entre 8 y 14 cm, El rin izquierdo mide entre 7 y 12,5 cm. No se diferencian en ms de 2 cm de longitud La corteza renal es homognea e hipoecoica con respecto al hgado o al bazo. El seno renal complejo ecgeno central denso.
