Nuclear potential energy is the potential energy of the particles inside an atomic nucleus. Nucleus consists of neutrons, protons and electrons. The nuclear particles are bound together by
RAPS comes under N.P.C.I.L (Govt. of India) It is situated at the bank of Chambal River of Rana Pratap Sagar Dam RAPS Setup in Rawatbhata, Rajasthan It has following plants RAPS 1(150MWe) & 2(200MWe) RAPS 3&4(2220MWe) RAPP 5&6(2220MWe)
Nuclear fission is a nuclear reaction in which the nucleus of an atom splits into smaller parts (lighter nuclei), often producing free neutrons and photons (in the form of gamma rays). Nuclear fission diagrammatic representation
A nuclear reactor is a device in which nuclear chain reactions are initiated, controlled, and sustained at a steady rate, as opposed to a nuclear bomb, in which the chain reaction occurs in a fraction of a second and if uncontrolled causing an explosion.
CONTROL RODS
A control rod is a rod made of chemical elements
capable of absorbing many neutrons. They are used in nuclear reactors to control the rate of fission of uranium and plutonium The control rods essentially contain neutron absorbers like, boron, cadmium or indium.
A turbine is a rotary engine that extracts energy from a fluid flow and converts it into useful work. The simplest turbines have one moving part, a rotor assembly, which is a shaft or drum with blades attached.
TURBINES
CONDENSER
The objective of the condenser are to reduce the turbine exhaust pressure to increase the efficiency and to recover high quality feed water in the form of
Water circulating through the condenser is taken to the cooling tower for cooling and reuse. Cooling towers are heat removal devices used to

Nuclear Power
ADVANTAGES
Nuclear power costs about the same as coal, so it's not expensive to make. Does not produce smoke or carbon dioxide, so it does not contribute to the greenhouse effect. Produces huge amounts of energy from small amounts of fuel. Produces small amounts of waste. Nuclear power is reliable.
DISADVANTAGES
High risks: It is technically impossible to build a plant with 100% security. The energy source for nuclear energy is Uranium. Uranium is a scarce resource, its supply is estimated to last only for the next 30 to 60 years depending on the actual demand. Nuclear power plants as well as nuclear waste could be preferred targets for terrorist attacks..
After completing my training I just wont to conclude that the knowledge of book that is not sufficient. The practical knowledge is also necessary to become a successful engineer. To support it I would like to write two lines; TAKE RISKS: IF YOU WIN, YOU WILL BE HAPPY; IF YOU LOSE YOU WILL BE WISE. The training period was really very edifying and enlightening experience for me. I come to know about the industry and the field, the production and management of such life scary radiation and new techniques. This had helped me a lot to develop my technical expertise and knowledge.
