Identifying the vacancy


The recruitment process begins with the human resource department receiving requisitions for recruitment from any department of the company. These contain: Posts to be filled Number of persons Duties to be performed Qualifications required

Preparing the job description and person specification


Preparing a job description is not a legal requirement but it will help you to decide what type of person you are looking for and to write the job advert.

A job description should include: the job title the main duties and purpose of the role information about the company and what it does the job location

The person specification


The person specification include the essential and desirable knowledge, experience and skills you would like the successful applicant to have.

Advertising the vacancy


Job vacancy advertising is the most common way of recruiting in India. It is done through advertising in local & national newspapers , television, radio, , internet, direct mail etc.

Managing the response


After receiving an adequate number of responses from job seekers, the sieving process of the resumes begins. This is a very essential step of the recruitment selection process , because selecting the correct resumes that match the job profile, is very important.

Short-listing
The short-listing phase is all about filtering job applications down to a manageable number. Number of filters have been used like Paper screening, telephone interviewing, ability testing etc.

Conducting interview and decision making


Shortlisted applicants are informed for initial interviews which are either face-to-face or by telephone, depending on the candidate's location. The initial interview examines the competencies and skills required for the role, candidates have applied for.

Final selection events consists of interviews, presentations, role play or analysis exercises and group activities, all measured against the requirements for the role.

The recruitment process in India is designed in such a way that each candidate gets the desired job profile according to his or her own choice. Placing the candidate in the right job profile, in the best company, is the end solution of most of the Indian recruitment agencies.
