Conclusion
The establishment of co-operative marketing societies
is a crucial step taken to overcome the problems arising
out of the present system of marketing agriculture
produce. The efforts of the government to improve the
marketing system of agricultural commodities have been
only partially successful for marketing of agri-produce.
The process of regulated markets is not uniform in all
areas. Therefore the need for cooperative
organizations is the need of the hour. This organization
can pool the produce of the small farmers, having a
small surplus to market and improve their bargaining
power.
NAFED plays a major role in stabilizing the prices
of agricultural goods and carries out various activities
to regulate the market. Since farmers are the main
members of NAFED its activities are of immense help
to the farmers.
