At the end of the lesson the students should be able to: Define the terminologies used, Give example of computer crime, and Analyze the situations wherein the subject of crime is computer

Computer Crime

Computer Crime
It is committed when a computer is the target of a crime

Criminals simply devise (nagbabalangkas) different ways to undertake well-known crimes such as fraud (pandaraya), theft (pagnanakaw), blackmail (pangunguwalta sa pamamagitan ng pananakot), forgery (palsipikasyon), and embezzlement (paglustay) using the new medium, often involving the internet.

Discussion
A computer can be target of crime, for example, when a person intends to steal information from, or cause damage to, a computer or computer network. This can be entirely virtual, i.e. the information only exists in digital form and the damage, while real, has no physical consequence other than the machine ceases (stops) to function.

Hacking
It is unauthorized use of computer and network resources . (The term hacker originally meant a very gifted programmer. In recent years though, with easier access to multiple systems, it now has negative implications.)

Internet Fraud is any dishonest misrepresentation of fact intended to induce (ibuyo) another to do from doing something which causes loss.

Confidence Trick
A confidence trick, confidence game, also known as a con, scam, grift, or flim flam, is an attempt to intentionally mislead a person or persons (known as the mark) usually with the goal of financial or other gain.

Piracy
Most states have enacted laws to protect copyrighted materials, and people who distribute and download copyrighted recordings without permission are liable to face civil actions for damages and penalties and/or criminal prosecution.

It is a criminal offense , which occurs when a person either obtains money or property from another through coercion or intimidation or threatens one with physical harm unless they are paid money or property

Harassment
Whereas content may be offensive in a nonspecific way, harassment directs obscenities and derogatory comments at specific individuals focusing on gender, race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation.
