According to Edwin B. flippo, training is the act of increasing the knowledge & skill of an employee for doing a particular job. Training approach is continous, systematic & strategy oriented.

The designing phase which involves the creation of the training activity. Formulates & implements detailed plan , refering to training objectives
Implementation phase which refers to the understanding of the participants background & characteristics , the close observation of the instuctors behavior , measurement of participants perception level &participants satisfaction.
Training evaluation it is necessary to ensure that the training activity is progressing towards the intended objectives. This phase measures mainly participants satisfaction with the training program.
Training methods
On the job training is delivered to employees while they are perform their regular jobs. Off the job training techinques include lectures special study , films , television conferences or discussions , case studies , role playing , simulation, programmed instructions & laboratory. Orientation are for new employees.
