Spread Formation

HHP primary Offense

Run plays out of shotgun and out of under center than can be out of both [1st downs and 3rd and short especially]

Comparing shotgun To Under Center

F C R E T W T M E S C Def Accounts For 4 WR and 1 Back Defense Does Not Have To Defend The QB As A Runner Defense Can Defend The Box With 6 VS 6

F C R E T W T M E S C

Defense Must Account For The QB AS The Second Back Defense Must Account For Four Wideouts If D Account For 4 Wides, They Are Left With 6 To Defend 7 In The Box

THE HUDDLE The center calls the huddle before every play
We have 3 different types of the huddles. Team Huddle = All 11 offensive players meet to get the play, 7-8 yards from LOS

QB Pre Snap Alignment

QB Aligns at 4.5 - 5 yards from the center Feet are slightly staggered with throwing foot slightly in front Hands are comfortable, with fingers spread QB brings the snap through the third hand QB Snaps Eyes to Read

Running Back Alignment

RB Lines Up __________ QB, With his crotch splitting the OS leg of the guard. His eyes are straight ahead He is balanced, with his hands on his hips If his hands go to his knees, he goes to the bench We have some flexibility to his alignment

Spread RECEIVERS FUNDAMENTALS : STANCE

Stance Basics Inside foot up (85% of your weight) Inside leg Knee should be bent and over the foot Outside leg- Straight (do not lock) Outside foot Heel on ground Spacing Feet should be shoulder width Torso Slight lean forward (shoulders over knees) Elbows Tight and ready to hammer back Hands Up and in front to insure proper hammer angle Head Your choice. We must be able to get pre-snap coverage call and see ball being snapped

II. START and RELEASE Push through the knee and foot of inside leg. (Your hips will drop slightly to help with power) Hammer your elbow back. (Your arm should remain in a 90-degree angle) Constantly negotiate what release will help provide the best leverage for blocking or create the best separation for route execution. We will utilize 3 releases 1. Inside Release - Inside release in order to gain a head-up position versus a defender who plays an inside technique (Cover 3 or 1) 2. Outside Release Outside release in order to gain a head-up position on a defender who plays an outside technique (Cover 2) 3. Speed Release Release directly at a head-up defender who is playing soft (Cover 3)

Blocking
BLOCKING Blocking is 90% effort and 10% technique. (You will not see the field if you cant block) Sell the void when possible Avoid crossing one foot over another Sit in the chair (squat stance) during stalk block Low man wins Fit your hands inside defenders frame Keep elbows right You must keep you feet under you and moving (do not lunge)

FINAL - MUSTS
MUSTS! Understand concept of every play so you know where and why you are blocking the defender Always run routes 100% regardless if you are play-side or backside If the ball touches your hand, it must be caught Compete for every ball Catch and tuck ball away Always be the aggressor!

ALIGNMENTS
O-LINE Center must line up first, Guards then should align their toes to Centers
heels, tackles align toe to toe with the Guards. Outside foot back for OG,s & OTs. - Their should be 2 ft splits between each lineman and Guards & Tackles are in 2pt stance. - X & Y align on the LOS, X -- 10 yds from the sideline. Y funky split - H & Z align front leg on the heel of the Y 10 yds from sideline, H --split the distance between OT & X Y funky split

___ TRIPS Rt or ___ Hell Trips

The TRIPS formation is when we Align 3 Recs to one side of the formation The Call (Trips Right) determines which side of the formation we overload! The Y and H make the adjustments. The I/S Rec to the call side widens to the 2nd Position, closer to the O/S Rec. The B/S Rec moves to the call side I/S Rec position or # H, Closer to the OT. The O/S Rec is the Z or X and is Called # 3 EXAMPLE: Hell Trips --- H goes in motion to CALL

#3

___ Trips Left or ___ Yo Trips

Pistol is when we MOTION to Trips The Call (Pistol Left) determines which side of the formation we will motion too! The Y and S make the adjustments. The I/S Rec to the Call Side (left) adjusts his alignment closer to the OT or # 3 position. The backside I/S Rec (away from the call) is the MOTION Rec and becomes # 2. Motion begins on QBs 1st sound. EXAMPLE: Gunn Yo Trips Left Y goes in motion to CALL
