likes and dislikes According to Engel, Attitudes are overall evaluation that allows one to respond in a consistently favorable or unfavorable manner with respect to a given object or alternative.

DEFINITION & MEANING OF ATTITUDE


According to Bem, Attitudes are likes and dislikes. According to Munn, Attitudes are learned behavior towards aspects of our environment. They can be positively or negatively directed towards certain people, service or institutions.

An attitude is the way we think, feel and act toward some aspect of our environment. The attitudes are a strong belief of somebody. Attitude reflects how one feels about something.

It related to the feelings & believes of people. It responds to persons, objects or events. It affects behavior either positively or negatively. It may be change by time.

1. Psychological factors: Its a makeup of a person is made up of his perceptions, ideas, beliefs, values, information etc. It has a crucial role in determining a persons attitude. 2. Family factors: A person learns from his family members who provide him with ready made attitude on a variety of issues such as education, work, health, religion, politics, economics etc.

3. Social factors: Societies are differ in terms of language, culture, norms, values, beliefs, etc., all of which influence a persons attitude. 4. Organizational factors: Organizational factors such as nature of job, factory layout, quality of supervision, informal groups play an important role in shaping job attitude of a person.

5. Political factors: Political factors such as ideologies of the political parties, political stability and the behavior of political leader greatly affects the attitudes of the people. 6. Economic factors: Economic factors such as persons economic status in the society, rate of inflation in the economy, countrys economic condition etc. affect on attitude.
