Canada is located in the northernmost part of North America. Canada shares land borders with the United States to the south and northwest, stretching from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west; to the north lies the Arctic Ocean.

Canada is a constitutional monarchy, and it is a member of the Commonwealth. Canadas queen is Elisabeth II of the United Kingdom, that who acts as a symbolic or ceremonial executive. In the first image we can see the governor general of Canada, Michalle Jean. In the second picture we can see the Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper.

Here, there is a picture of the capital city of Canada, Ottawa. It is located at the Ottawa River valley, in the province of Ontario. But the lagest city of Canada it isnt Ottawa, it is Toronto.

In non-coastal regions, snow can cover the ground almost six months of the year (more in the north). Coastal British Columbia is an exception and enjoys a temperate climate with a mild and rainy winter. On the east and west coast, average high temperatures are generally in 20 C , while between the coasts the average summer high temperature ranges from 25 to 30C with occasional extreme heat in some interior locations exceeding 40C . Canada is also geologically active, having many earthquakes and potentially active volcanoes.

Canada has hosted several international sporting events, including the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Is also expected to hold the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

Canada is one of the worlds wealthiest nations, with a high per-capita income, and is a member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the G8. It is one of the worlds top 10 trading nations. Canada is a mixed market. Since the early 1990s, the Canadian economy has been growing rapidly with low unemployment and large government surpluses on the federal level.

Canada is a geographically vast and ethnically diverse country. Canadian culture has also been greatly influenced by immigration from all over the world. Many Canadians value multiculturalism and see Canadian culture as being inherently multicultural.

Canada is famous for inventing the ice hockey, which is the national sport in the country. It was invented based on the Field Hockey.
