STUDY AREA MARIGADDE JACKWELL

Jackwell and the pumping system situated at 22 km from sirsi town. The well is constructed inside the stream of river at Marigadde. The diameter of well is 8-9m and depth is about 40 ft.

PUMPING UNIT

In the MarigaddeJackwell the pumping system is consists of 3 pumps ( 2 working pumps +1) of 150HP capacity and lifts the water of 81.00 litrs per second and hence 16.5millian litrs per day.

PIPE LINE DETAILS

The length of pipe line from Jackwell to I.P.S is 4.6 km and length of pipe line from intermediate pumping station to Bhimangudda water treatment plant is 10.197km. The diameter of pipe is 450mm. The cost of pipe line is about 66 lakhs.

TREATMENT PLANT

This is the First largest water purification unit in the Sirsi city which is situated at Bheemanagudda. This plant was established in the year 2008 and is capable to purify water more than 25 lakh liters/day and has a capacity to store 17 lakh liters. The plant is about 2000 sqm area with all necessary treatment units. In that site a jack well type of construction is made to collect the large quantity. This plant contains one elevated reservoir which has a capacity of 7lack liter. This plant supplies water to the following places which are situated evenly within the city.

Conclusion and scope for future study

They use water instead of the air compressor for the cleaning purpose which requires large amount of water. So we advice them to use air compressors for cleaning. The sedimentation tank in Bheemangudda plant requires manual cleaning by emptying of the water. But the sedimentation tank in Raghavendra circle plant does not requires manual cleaning and emptying of the water. Hence these type of automated instrument are required within the plat for better and efficient working.s By automated machinery for cleaning dependency on labors are minimized. By regular observations and conducting tests for treated water quality may be increased.
