artificial lighting represents a major component of design buildings. Proper lighting can enhance task performance, improve the appearance of an area, or have positive psychological effects on occupants. Lighting is classified by intended use as general, accent, or task lighting, depending largely on the distribution of the light produced by the fixture. Task lighting is mainly functional and is usually the most concentrated, for purposes such as reading or inspection of materials. For example, reading poor-quality reproductions may require task lighting levels up to 1500 lux ,and some inspection tasks or surgical procedures require even higher levels. Accent lighting is mainly decorative, intended to highlight pictures, plants, or other elements of interior design or landscaping. General lighting (sometimes referred to as ambient light) fills in between the two and is intended for general illumination of an area. Indoors, this would be a basic lamp on a table or floor, or a fixture on the ceiling. Outdoors, general lighting for a parking lot may be as low as 10-20 lux (1-2 footcandles) since pedestrians and motorists already used to the dark will need little light for crossing the area.
INTRODUCTION
FI House
It was designed by Punto Arquitectnico, Alejandra Molina Gual, Mauricio Rosales Aznar and Israel Ramrez Segura in collaboration with Architect Manuel Ferrer Lpez. Being situated on a flat terrain near the city of Mrida, the dwelling is designed to take advantage of the natural sunlight, wind and fresh air and having the opportunity to maximize the external view also it works perfectly as the general lighting for exteriors which only have lighting around the pathways. The propertys land area is bordered by a concrete fence that also provides privacy to the owners of this amazing house bearing the lights for the pathways.
The 30-foot-tall flagpole (10 meters) on the top of the building was lit in a way that provides both style and functionality to the installation. Covered in 200 feet (60 meters) of Sweled Ultra Bright LED Neon Flex RGB tubing, the color of the pole indicates the weather conditions in Istanbul for the following day, which is programmed daily from inside the building. The entire lighting system, including the Aquaram color sequence, was pre-programmed on computers and loaded onto 5 LanBox-LCE mini DMX controllers, which are integrated with the master operating system for the entire bank building. The biggest challenge to the team was that the bank was built several years ago, without consideration to exterior lighting. Spectra oversaw the construction of 28 custom brackets for the Aquaram/ArenaVision fixutures to mount 5 feet out (1 1/2 meters) from the face of the building and allow for a 6 tilt. They also had to custom manufacture the braces for the LED tubes on the flagpole to allow visibility from all angles.
