Copying Cells

Copy cells & extend ranges with the Fill Handle Cursor changes to plus sign ( + ) Click and drag with the left mouse button

A copied formula will automatically apply itself to its new location Select Cell and Click Copy Select Cell and Click Paste

Text can be altered and positioned to improve its appearance

Select Format, then choose Row (or Column) Adjust the Height (Width), or Hide/Unhide

Select the row/column by clicking on the number/letter Select Edit, then choose Delete

Right-click the Sheet Tab Select Rename, then type the new name

Right-click the Sheet Tab; select Move or Copy Check the Create a copy box and select the sheets new location

Viewing Worksheet Tabs

Sheet Tabs are controlled by buttons at the bottom left corner of the document window Use the buttons to make all tabs visible

Using the Calculator

Excel includes a calculator Highlight the numbers you want to add and the sum appears in the status bar Calculator can also average, count, and find min/max To change operations, right-click in the status bar

Click Format on the Menu Bar & select AutoFormat Choose a format from the choices on the left; see example on right

Cells and ranges can be named To go to a named cell, type it in the name box, or select the dropdown

Type a Name and press Enter to go to the Cell

Click on dropdown to select defined names

To name, Click Insert on the Menu Bar and select Name, then Define Insert Type the name here

Enter the table shown below. (Use the Fill Handle) Use a formula to calculate the profit ( =B2-B3 ) Name cell B3 Jan, C3 Feb, D3 Mar, etc
