Handling Busy Files on Microsoft Windows Clients


Open File Backup uses VERITAS Snapshot Provider (VSP) to protect open Windows files. Generic protection is provided for databases and file servers. The changed file + the old blocks = the old file.

Manual Backups
Performed on automatic schedules, not user-directed schedules Run by NBU administrators on the master server Mistaken for user-directed backups Also known as immediate backups Test a configuration. Resubmit a missed or failed backup. Preserve an old configuration prior to upgrading. Use the GUI. Run the bpbackup -i command.
