The Room Examiner

1.

2. 3.

4.

Counts the TBs and ASs without opening the plastic bags containing them before proceeding to his/her assigned testing room. Any discrepancy should be acted upon immediately and this should be reported in the CEs Report. Signs Form 3 as he/she receives the TMs from the CE/STC while still in the distribution room. Checks if the examinees have lead pencils to use and a sheet of blank paper for computation purposes; Facilitates the recording of the Examinee Number and Test Booklet Number of the Examinees in the NETRC Form 2 (Seat Plan);

Counts and double counts the TBs per pack and the number of ETREs.

Notes:
1. The RS must come from another school other than those schools where REs shall be assigned. 2. The number of RSs assigned in a testing center will depend on the number of examinees in an examination room. Below is the ratio: 1 RS is assigned in every 10 rooms if there are 20 examinees/room 1 RS is assigned in every 5 rooms if there are 30 examinees/room
7

The School Testing Coordinator

1.

Double checks the enrolment data of the school prior to submission to the DTC. Attends the orientation at the division level in the absence (or in behalf of) of the SH. Accomplishes the SSH. Assists the CE in all the testing activities. Double checks the TMs before final packing, being accountable also on these materials.

2.

3.

4.

5.

Orientation at the Division Level

This is primarily aimed to orient all the testing staff in the

NCAE administration. But due to budgetary constraints only one representative per school is authorized to attend-either the SH or the STC. However, a 100% attendance is imposed for the school representative. Sanctions should be meted for non-attendance.
Hence, a mechanism should be devised so that all testing

staff are properly oriented; one of which is orienting all the teaching force in the school by the SH/STC to be ready on exam day in case there will be shortage of REs in other testing centers.
A soft copy of the Examiners Handbook and the guidelines

must be provided to School Heads to save printing cost.

3. The School IDs issued by NETRC will be used

temporarily for future test administrations until such time BEIS issues the permanent ID;
4. In case there are several School IDs for one school,

follow the School ID indicated in the Scannable School Header(SSH) and check the correctness of School ID in the TMs received. (Temporary in nature)
12

Guidelines on the Use of Learner Reference Number (LRN)

the Office of the Planning Service, DepED Central Office.

Filling Out the Scannable School Header (SSH)

Data must be prepared by the STC days ahead before exam day. Transcribe the data in the SSH using a PENCIL (lead# 2) during

examination day. Every variable is labeled with S if a school concern and Y3 if a third year concern. There are variables specific only for private schools (GASTPE) and for the public schools only (CFSS, etc.) GASTPE Grantees (for private schools only) specified by year levels - Take note of the bubbles for EVS and ECS. Observe place values in filling out the variables. - Percentage rates of the education indicators. The three place values are for 100% while the two rightmost place values are for below 100%. 9 5 Ex. 95% 0

S c ie nt if ic A bilit y ( S A ) . This is an assessment o f the individual's scientific abilities and skills to ado pt scientific metho ds, pro cedures and pro cesses co nstructing kno wledge and so lving experimental o r real-life pro blems. One who has high SA has greater pro bability to excel in academic pro grams that wo rk mo stly o n scientific metho do lo gies (e.g. medical allied pro fessio ns). Tho se with average SA can be successful in the field o f chemistry, physics, zo o lo gy, bo tany, bio lo gy, and o ther co urses related to R e a ding C o m pre he ns io n ( R C ) . This measures the ability to understand what has been stated directly; to anlayze, interpret, and criticize what has been read; to reco gnize reaso nable applicatio n o f principles o r o pinio ns expressed by the autho r. A student with hig RC has the po tential to make so und inferences, syntheses, generalizatio ns, o r co nclusio ns o n what he/she read. Students who po ssess the skills will mo st likely succeed in co urses that invo lve public speaking and even writing such as mass co mmunicatio n, teaching, theo lo gy, and law. V e rba l A bilit y ( V A ) . This subtest measures the assertive ability o f a perso n in view o f grammatical rules and lo gical arrangement o f ideas. Individuals with hig VA have high sense o f analo gy; hence, they have po tential in mass co mmunicatio n, law, teaching, and preaching vo catio n. Tho se with average VA can be develo ped in advertising careers. M a t he m a t ic a l A bilit y ( M A ) . This subtest is used to assess quantitative abilities and co mputatio nal skills, particularly, o n wo rking with numbers, perceiving relatio nship between two quantities and so lving wo rd pro blems. One with high M A has high sense o f mathematical calculus, a requisite skill in engineering co urses, aero nautics and marine co urses. C le ric a l A bilit y ( C A ) . This is a test o f ability and skill to enco de data/info rmatio n and file o ffice reco rds, as well as ability to no te details. High CA is the requisite skill fo r secretariat jo bs fo r these jo bes require go o d manual dexterity; thus individuals with high CA are po tential co mputer o perato rs. enco ders, and steno graphers. V is ua l M a nipula t iv e S k ills ( V M S ) . This subtest measures abilities that require perceptual and visual judgment in determining figures, symbo ls, and nature o f space as well as skills in mentally manipulating o bjects and co ncrete materials. This tests a perso n's reaso ning ability to identify patterns presented in diagrammatic fo rm. The series o f figures presented in each item requires the perceptio n o f an o perating principle underlying the changes in the figures. In each instance, the examinee must disco ver the principle's go verning change/s o f the figures and give evidence o f his understanding by indicating the diagram that sho uld lo gically fo llo w. It tests abilities required in jo bs such as engineering, science, architecture and any o ther jo bs which invo lve wo rking with diagrammatic and similar visual info rmatio n.
