TRAVEL AND TOUR OPERATION

PASSENGER NAME RECORD (PNR)


- A record that contains the details of a passengers reservation and other information related to a passengers trip - It consists of a collection of information called ELEMENTS - When a PNR is filed in the system, it is assigned a six-character code (either numbers or letters or a combination of both) called RECORD LOCATOR which is used to retrieve the PNR

1. NAME ELEMENT - Passengers name or passengers names

3. CONTACT ELEMENT - A telephone number or contact information for the person making the booking - The indicators are:
- H- for passenger home contact - B- for the passenger business contact - A- for travel agency contact

4. TICKETING ELEMENT - An indication of the arrangements for issuing a ticket for the booking - The codes are:
- TL- For ticketing time limit - XL- For automatic cancellation of itinerary - OK- For ticketing is ok or the booking has been ticketed.

5. RECEIVED ELEMENT - The name of the person who has made the booking

FARE CALCULATION
FARE - The amount charged by a carrier of a passenger and his allowable free baggage, and is the current fare which a carrier in the publication it normally uses to publish fares, holds out to the public as being applicable to the class of service to be furnished.

2. PASSENGER AIR TARIFF - A two-book set (western and Eastern Hemisphere) which gives the applicable air fares on the various sectors, regardless of airline - These books are very similar to the official airline guide books of flight used to determine suitable flights.
