-Introducing Concept (add different unit of length) -km to m Exp1: 2km + 465m= ______m -(Convert the unit) 1km = 1000m 2km = 2x1000m = 2000m -add the number in vertical form: 2000 m + 465 m 2465 m Exp2: 3.5km + 975m= _______m

introduce the concept of adding different units such as kilometres to metres. -teacher demonstrate the method of converting the units before addition. (km to m) Teacher shows addition method. -teacher calls the pupil randomly to answer the questions on the white board (Pupil respond)

-teacher divides pupils into 4 groups. -each group pick 2 flash cards from the teacher and combine it to make a question. -teacher calls the pupils to stick the flash card to the white board and make a question. -teacher and pupil discuss the answer of the questions. -teacher asks the pupils to convert the units based on the answer. -teacher distribute the blank table so that the pupils should fill up the table. -each volunteer of the groups show the way how to convert the answer. -pupils fill up the table given.

Example: 5 km + 350 m= ___km ___m
