Issue command startsap If there are multiple instances on one host you must add an extra parameter to the scripts:
startsap <instanceID>

Open the URL : http://hostname:5<systemno>00/index.html For e.g http://10.180.1.12:50200/index.html - And then click on system Information. - It will show the status of the processes
The other way is Login to the server through telnet - Go to the directory /usr/sap/<SID>/JC<sid>/work for e.g /usr/sap/Q30/JC02/work Note: Directory strucure is different in Dual stack system /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS<sysno>/work for e.g /usr/sap/C21/DVEBMGS07/work - check the log dev_server0 - If it is showing all applications are running that means Java is running fine Note: This is necessary when Java is not up and you are not able to open index page
Dual stack system Login to ABAP client Go to SMICM tcode GO to Administration->J2ee Instance (local) And send Soft Shutdown with Restart Single stack system Login to server Issue command stopsap and then startsap

Login to Offline config tool Go to Instance ServerServices Select com.sap.security.core.ume.service Set the following properties ume.r3.connection.master.ashost : host name of the backend system ume.r3.connection.master.client : client of the host name ume.r3.connection.master.user : user to connect to backend system ume.r3.connection.master.passwd : Password of the user
SAPJSF is the user used to connect to backend system and must have role SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO
Need to restart the Java server to affect these settings

Make sure that you have other user id same privileges as administrator Or Activate SAP* user as explained in previous slides Logon to Visual Admin with sap* user Go to Server Services Security Provider Go to User Management tab in right panel Give the user administrator And click on unlocked tab This will unlock user administrator

Logon to Visual Admin with administrator user Go to Server Services SLD Data Supplier Choose CIM Client Generation Settings and specify the necessary HTTP connection parameters to establish a connection to the SLD. Save the data by pressing the Save button
Choose the CIM Client Test button to check the CIM client connectivity. Repeat the steps for http connection.

We can perform regular system check of java enginee through Netweaver Administration i.e NWA For that open page http://Servername:50<instanceNumber>00/nwa For E.g http://10.180.1.12:50200/nwa

Since NW 2004s it is the official tool for applying Java SPs and SP stacks

JSPM can update the SAP Kernel, IGS and SDM. They are listed as components. Note: In case you want to update SDM it has a component name SAP_JAVASL.
JSPM orders the Java components in a proper sequence for deployment. When the product is updated with stack definition file, JSPM will check that the required set of components is complete. If instead SDM is used it is the user who must ensure that the complete set of components is selected for update.

It will scan the directory /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in and detect the patches to be apply. As a next step it will validate those patches.

After completion of patch application of component JSPM it will ask us to exit and again open JSPM. Start JSPM again and start deployment
