Please Help Your Child to Succeed by:


Making sure your child is rested, on time and prepared for each school day. Knowing how your child is doing in school by communicating with teachers by agenda, phone or email. Monitoring your childs homework and making sure study time is in a quiet place, with lined paper and pencils available. Limiting TV and video games and reading together daily. Help your child be organized by assisting with unpacking his/her knapsacks regularly. Look at homework, tests, papers together to review feedback. Provide healthy snacks & lunches without nuts.

Homework
Daily reading approximately 20-30 minutes and recording in reading log that parents sign Weekly spelling homework and spelling tests Completion of any unfinished school work Projects or tests assigned throughout the year Regular review of math, social studies and science

This year our focus is teaching students to be better learners. We want them to be more explicit with their learning. To be more inquisitive and think about the Big Picture. For example; In Social Studies the grade fours are learning about the provinces, territories and regions of Canada. We learned about the different climate and various natural resources across Canada. A question we discussed was how the price of food in Nunavut would compare to the price of groceries in Ontario and why.
