Space Probes and Satellites

Phoenix Space Probe We will be discovering the inhabitants of Mars. The planet is said to be the most habital in the solar system, making it the perfect planet to explore. With the phoenixs unique form we will be able to explore the planet of Mars (looking for water or live) while still capturing information of the mysterious planet. The Phoenix will be able to capture the planets features with its many cameras. Making it a perfect space probe for this project. This space craft was launched in August 4, 2007. The Venus Express spacecraft was successfully inserted in the polar orbit around Venus. The 53 minutes burn of the main engine placed the spacecraft in the capture Orbit around Venus. After the burn was completed the spacecraft automatically returned to the Earth, with this trait of the Venus Express will make it capable of traveling to Mars and capturing pictures of planets above its atmosphere then it will return safe and sound The Venus Express will give an excellent and appropriate opportunity to make a breakthrough in exploration of any planet. This space craft was launched in November 9, 2005. Mariner Mars was a space orbiter that helped in the exploration of mars in 1971. It was planned to consist of two spacecraft on complementary missions. Mariner 9 became the first spacecraft to orbit another planet. It circled Mars twice each day for a full year, taking pictures of the surface and analyzing the atmosphere. Making this probe another perfect probe to use to study the planet from outside the atmosphere. This space craft was launched in Mars Odyssey: The Odyssey is anything but uniform in its build it is a smaller space craft that would fit inside a box. There are many instruments in the Odyssey that allow us to see objects that is not normally visual to the our human eye. It has three different types of spectro-meters. A number of the mechanisms on the Odyssey or used for the high rise antenna so it can do a better job collecting data. The Odyssey has cameras that guide it and it gathers solar energy and stores energy meaning it wont run out of energy, making it a good space craft for this operation. This space craft was launched in October 21, 2001.

The Rosetta Space Probe would be another excellent space probe because it consists of the probe itself and the Philae Lander. The probe will be able to view Mars above the atmosphere while the lander can view Mars terrain. With this we can learn the planets weather habits while also learning the inhabitants of Mars (if any). Finally is the poles of Mars have water the lander will know. This space craft was launched in March 4, 2004

Spirit and opportunity are two rovers. The spirit was on the Martian surface probing and taking pictures. It has discovered that there was water on the Martian surface at one point. It is designed to be protected from the dust and other stuff the probe uses solar panels to charge its batteries so I can keep running. This space craft was launched in July 7, 2003
