Dos & Don'ts Of Hardware Mounting

Mounting hardware size should be as per the standard drawings. Ensure that all the hardware are tightened at all places like PIN insulator, Strain insulators, Jumpers etc. Proper alignment of hardware between equipment and mounting frame. Mounting hardware holes in frame should be done as per the particular hardware size.

ENERCON

Avoid using hardware of lower grades. Dont make Gas cutting as a practice for alignment of mounting hardware.
Dont use Corroded hardware for mounting.

Dos & Don'ts Of Earthing connection.

ENERCON
I N D I

Dos
Bituminous paint should be provided 150mm above the ground and 150mm below the ground to avoid corrosion, to provide low resistive and maintain potential Gradient. Ensure the Pole earthing should be provided before the stringing of conductor to avoid the conductor and insulator damage. Insulator should be provided between LA structure earthing and structure. Isolator structure earthing with isolator handle should be provided for the safety of operation

Donts
Dont make overlaping with less contact area in between two earth strips Dont use LA and Neutral earthing overlapped to provide low resistance and equipotential surface.

ENERCON
I N D I

Dos
Diameter of G.I. Stay Wires shall be as per the EIL Standards . Minimum tensile strength 700 kN / mm2 Minimum breaking force of single wire and strand shall be as per IS: 2142000.

Donts
Dont use the stay wire with loosen condition. Ensure proper tightening. Dont use stay wire with out guy insulator of EIL standard ratings.

Foundation

Compiled By: Service & Installation Quality Assurance

Dos & Don'ts Of Foundation activity.

ENERCON
I N D I

Dos
Foundation (shape and size) should as per standard drawing Foundation cement sand and aggregate ratio should be 1:2:4 or 1:4:8 Provide proper curing time (at least two days) Surface of foundation should be same level at all sides It should be assured the cement grade (53 grade) All raw material of civil work (foundation or construction work) should be checked by EIL employee

Donts

Do not utilize non standard raw material. Do not use the rejected templates for the civil work in case of foundations.

Dos & Don'ts Of painting activity.

ENERCON
I N D I

Dos
Transmission line poles surface preparation should be done (Can be use sand blasting, wire brush, emery paper) After cleaning, apply the coating of red-oxide paint through out the surface area and dry it, it provide sustainability against corrosion. After applying the red-oxide completely apply another coat of aluminum paint. After erection second coat of aluminum paint should be apply.

Donts
Do not apply the red-oxide paint without surface preparation of the poles.
Do not erect poles without painting , it will decrease the life of the poles and get corroded easily.

Dos & Don'ts Of Jumpers , conductor & Connections.

ENERCON
I N D I

Dos
Laying of jumpers should be done per drawing. Binding should not be loose. Avoid Fraying of conductor. Bending of lug at conductor should avoid. Avoid conductor joint in many places between two cut points. Clearance between conductor to conductor and conductor to pole should be as per standard. Sag should be as per standard.

Donts
Dont Cut of conductor during lugging. Ensure proper lugging. Dont make Nick mark in conductor. Dont put the conductor in stress. Ensure proper length to avoid stress.

Dos & Don'ts For Yard and Material Preservation

ENERCON
I N D I

Specification of all materials, equipment and various channels should be available in yard. Identification and traceability of all materials should be available. Acceptance criteria for Isolator should be checked when the material indent. Painting process on materials should be done as per specification. Assembling of DO fuse should be done correctly. Corrective action for scrap material should be done. Corroded Nuts should be scraped and disposed. Corrective action for scraped clamps should be done.

Do not misalign the assembly of DO fuse. Do not place the relay panel and VCB over abrupt surface and protect them from dust and other foreign particles. Ensure that there is no oil leakage from CTs ,PTs. Do not mix good materials with scrap. Ensure the life cycle and functioning of all panel batteries.
