Healthbox was founded inside Sandbox Industries, a Chicago-based incubator and venture capital firm, in 2011 to support a community of healthcare entrepreneurs through its business accelerator. Sandbox manages over $300mn for the Blue Cross Blue Shields Association health plans in the US in health tech and tech enabled service ventures BCBS Ventures create value through enabling partnerships between the Plans, their industry partners, and the ventures
