SHARING EXPERIENCES/BUSINESS SITUATIONS through

CASE-STUDY METHODOLOGY

NEED
Success of any project simply depends on delivering on-time every time. With timelines being squeezed
from project to project, every org depends on leveraging re-usable components as part of Knowledge Management. One such re-usable component can be sharing experiences (situations faced). These experiences are documented in lessons learned & shared in best practice sessions. A still better way would be to internally publish case studies to document situations faced. A case study is a problem solving/business decision-making simulation. It simulates a real-world business situation and is extremely beneficial in narrating an instance/situation in simple language. Good consulting firms have always used this methodology to enhance their knowledge capital.

BENEFITS
Case study methodology excels at bringing to an understanding of a complex issue or object and can extend experience or add strength to what is already known through previous experience.

They emphasize detailed contextual analysis of a limited number of events or conditions and their
relationships, rather than discussing everything in general. Easier way to understand an experience without talking to the person Improve communication skills Easily accessible KM site/any other dedicated site A case never has only a one way of solving the problem; readers can explore alternate paths
