OBJECTIVES
Primary Objective:

To measure the labour welfare benefits and safety measures at


Annamalaiyar Mills Private Limited. Secondary Objectives:

To find out the effectiveness of the Welfare Measures.


To measure the employee satisfaction towards working

environment, Safety measures.

To

provide

suggestions

and

recommendations

for

further

improvement.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research design:

A plan of proposed study prepared by a researcher stating the research activities to be


performed in this proposed study before he undertakes his research work is called Research Design.

Sample size:
150 respondents were selected for the survey. Data collection method: A survey method is used to collect the data. Sampling plan: Out of 500 employees this study was carried out taking into the account of only 150 employees.

STATISTICAL TOOLS UESD


Percentage analysis: The percentage method was extensively used for analysis and Interpretation. There are many situations in which it is not possible to make any rigid assumption about the distribution of the population from which samples are being drawn.

FINDINGS
23% (35) of the respondents are satisfied with spittoons provided at the work place. 27% (40) of the respondents are satisfied with the canteen facilities. 40% (60) of the respondents are the satisfied with the medical facilities provided at the work place. 29% (43) of the respondents are satisfied with the first aid facilities provided at the work places. 37% (56) of the respondents are agreed with fire fighting equipments provided at the work places. 30% (45) of the respondents are disagreed with accommodation facilities. 33% (50) of the respondents are strongly agreed with the transport facilities at the work places. 42% (63) of the respondents are agreed to the facilities of safety training, safety officers, and safety diverters. 29% (43) of the respondents are disagreed with the seating facilities. 23% (35) of the respondents are agreed with the training programmes. There is no significant relationship between transportation and gender.

38% (56) of the respondents are in the age group of 20-30 years.

53% (80) of the respondents are male.


55% (78) of the respondents are married. 64% (96) are stay in their own house. Among the 150 respondents 39% (59) of the workers studied in Higher secondary. 39% (58) of the respondents are got monthly salary less than 10000. 40% (60) of the respondents having 4-6 years of service. 62% (93) of the respondents are satisfied with pure drinking water facilities.

53% (80) of the respondents are highly satisfied with fresh air ventilation is provided at the
work place.

SUGGESTIONS
The seating facility adopted by the company is not sufficient. Hence

facilities of the rest room must be improved.


The existing urine and latrine facilities are not enough to cater the employees needs. For making healthy employees, the company has to

improve the quality of latrine and urinals.


Most of the employees are having the feeling that the company is not providing adequate voluntary welfare measures. So that the company can

make some suggestion box and can conduct some employee meeting to
encourage and receive valuable suggestion from the employees.

The company has to improve the safety equipment facilities and proper training has to be imparted

to minimize the accidents.


The service provided by the canteen must be improved. More training can be carried out periodically to enhance the skills of the employees to fight against fire.

Proper monitoring is needed to maintain hygienic environment in and around work place.
The organization should make sure that all the welfare measures rendered to the employees reach them and they do not go in vain.

I hope that all suggestion prescribed in the project will be noticed by the concerned authorities of

the company and necessary action will be taken.

CONCLUSION
Manpower is the main asset of the company . So employee participation is very important in the decision making of the company. The company is benefited with the study because the topic will help the management to get an effective feedback from the employees about the employee welfare measures prevailing in the organization. It also provides researcher an opportunity to venture into various channels of the organizations, which is useful for the researcher in future. The study provides various suggestions to the management including various measures to enhance level of satisfaction of employees in ANNAMALAIYAR MILLS PRIVATE LTD. At the same time employees got

opportunity to express their view about components of the satisfaction level prevailing to ANNAMALAIYAR
MILLS PRIVATE LTD. It also expected that improvement will be made and appropriate actions will be taken based on the suggestion and opinions given by the respondents and researcher.
