The General Social Care Council has a responsibility in developing codes of practice for social workers and social care workers
The code of practice is a list of statements that describes the standards of professional conduct and practice required in their daily work

There are codes of professional conduct for nurses and other health care workers

For the first time standards are set in at national level They describe the standards of professional conduct and practice required of social care workers as they go about their daily work

The code confirms the standards required in social care and ensure that workers know what standards of conduct employers, colleagues, service users, carers and the public expect of them

Treating each person as an individual


Respecting and promoting the individual views and wishes of both service users and carers

Being honest and trustworthy Communicating in an appropriate, open, accurate and straightforward way

Role of nurses:
There are many roles for the nurses:

1. Care for patients


Basic nursing care

Keeping patients mobile to enhance limbs and joint mobility Prevent pressure sores

2. Work with doctors and other professional: Nurses carry out many treatments prescribed

Nurse protect the patients by ensuring the environment is safe, prevent spread of infection Protect patients dignity, and ensure privacy when clothing need to be removed

5. Advocate for the patients: Nurses are with people during the most critical time of their lives People share personal issues with nurses The nurses have to support the patients ,speak on their behalf And interceding if necessary
