On 24th,Feb 2011. Tata Motors to inaugurate Land Rover unit in India. Tata Motors, which has promised and planned to spend almost 1 billion euros a year on JLRs R&D activities, is possibly looking at raising funds on the London Stock Exchange, which could be in the form of an initial public offer (IPO) for JLR. On 25th,Feb 2011. Tata Motors says no plans to list Jaguar Land Rover. On 28th,Feb 2011. Key automobile stocks were trading lower ahead of the finance minister's Budget speech. Market players are expecting a 2% hike in excise duty and also an additional duty on diesel cars. Share price of Tata Motors were down between 0.5-1%.

Cont. Tata Motors to assemble SUV Freelander in India. Union Budget 2011-12 is positive for the Automobile sector as the central excise duty has been kept unchanged. Auto industry pushes for reduction of excise on big cars. Automobile sales, which has been growing at the rate of 30% will continue to ride high though the sector is still grappling with rising input and fuel costs.

CONCLUSION
As we have seen from this presentation that Tata Motors has been more prominent in trades may it be the number of shares traded or the volumes than its competitor Maruti Suzuki India. Tata Motor having an experience of more than 65 years in the Auto Sector in comparison to Maruti Suzuki India which has experience of around 29 years. From the P/E Ratio of both the companies Tata Motors/Maruti Suzuki India 39.30/16.35.We can conclude that Tata Motors is a better stock with strong fundamentals than its rival Maruti Suzuki India.
