Our paper presents the way in which such a solution can be
performed in high school classes.

The paper is articulated around the opportunities of an

interdisciplinary project which is going to be developed
on an on-line learning site which will facilitate the
elaboration of a learning unit.
The paper we propose derives from a series of
considerations regarding two essential aspects:

 Realities of the Romanian educational system,

reflected in a number of statistic studies and research
realized by specialists from the Institute of Science and
Education Romania and in reports of the European
Commission too.

 Realities of the European educational system (Austrian

and Spanish, in particular) and European solutions for
rendering the didactic act efficient.
Experimental Learning by using ICT

Specialists in educational policies consider that the

realization of the „postmodern education” cannot exclude
a possible conflict between „formal education” (the official
one) and the „informal education” (the random one)
(Anton Ilinca).
Recent studies have reflected the fact that the
educational institutions responsible in Romania offer too
little attractivity to motivate young people.
 In 2008 the European Commission proposes a program
for the schools of the 21st century, insisting on the necessity of
more individualised approach of the learning process and
a more creative use of evaluation, so that there can be
fulfilled, among other objectives of the strategy of Lisbon,
those which refer to reduction of early school leaving and
improving school attendance.

 Regarding the aspect of improving the degree of the

students’ involvement in their own process of training, we
consider that experimental learning, by using ICT in
(non)formal interdisciplinary contexts is an European
educational solution, viable for the Romanian educational
system as well, and it can lead to the increase of students’
motivation and the development of their creativity.
The necessity of cultivating the technological
humanism which refers to the realisation of equilibrium
between the grounding and the rational-technical and scientific
formation of the students and the release and cultivation of
sensitivity and creativity, determined us to propose three
solutions of experimental learning, articulated around two
concepts:

hands on approach
 hands on science.
A recent analysis that we have attended as trainers, lead
us to the conclusion that teachers from the Romanian high
school education prefer the technologic environment,
especially for the activity of didactical planning, and,
eventually, for evaluation.

The Internet and the e-mail remain the most explored

means of information and communication.

As far as the educational software is concerned, we

noticed certain inertness, this support not being very used in
the didactical act.
Another conclusion of the analysis undertaken was that of
proving the opportunities and the limits of interdisciplinarity
(Romanian - ICT), presenting the advantages of using WEB
2.0 tools of teaching – learning in high school education and
proving as well the way in which (self)(inter)evaluation of
digital curriculum products/e-portfolios can be achieved.
By projecting and implementing an interdisciplinary
course at the level of classes of superior high school, we
pursued the opportunities and limits of the WEB2.0 tools in
teaching/learning and assessing the contents which refer to
several curriculum areas (Language and communication and
ICT) in order to realise transdisciplinary competences:

optimisation of communication by using

new informational technologies
On-line journalism – opportunities of developing key competences
for the students capable of performance, within an interdisciplinary
project proposed by us starts from the model of enrichment used in
gifted education.
http://normalistii.isgreat.org
The elaboration of the students capable of
performances, of educational soft, which supposed the
development of types of competences: linguistic, of
communication, of using ICT and analytical.
The objectives of the project are:

I. Forming the competences of using ICT in the study of the Romanian

language through:

Acquiring theoretical knowledge of:

a) processing the text (collecting, downloading, modeling, assembling)
b) processing the image (creating, uploading, processing, sending)
c) processing the sound (creating, modeling, representing)
d) processing the film and animation (creation, assembling, representing)

Forming the practical working abilities to:

a) create a personal, interactive web page, of the Weblog type
b) search and include on the Blog elements of HTML to inform (clock,
counter, weather, RSS, calendar, etc)
c) choose the design and personalize and public personal information;
d) know to use the main forms of web communication: chat, magazine (on-
line magazine), e-mail, messenger, survey, interview, article, album,
videoconference, forum.
II. Using the communicative capacities, of netiquette rules, the
legislation regarding the copy right and the use of the blog in
different real situations.

III. Developing the electronic portfolio, (e-portfolio), with its three

didactic functionalities (teaching, learning, evaluating) for the
students and teachers in the vocational systems in order to apply it
to target groups, to ensure a more efficient use of the ICT in the
vocational education.
 The final evaluation (in praesentia) was realized through
individual presentation of the BLOG e-portfolio by each
student, in front of the evaluation commission and of their
mates, a presentation followed by (self)(inter)evaluation
through technical, layout and idea debates of the BLOG e-
portfolio.

 Hereby, the direct and indirect beneficiaries, students and

teachers who will take part in this project, will fully
understand that in the present educational context, the active
and motivated learning through interdisciplinary
experiment alone can ensure a higher ranking for education
within these important perspectives: to know in order to do
and to understand.
 On the other hand, the teachers involved in the project, some
of them having already been the beneficiaries of the
educational program Intel Teach, where they developed
their teaching skills, by means of the efficient use of
technology, will create contexts of learning so that the
computer and the Internet should be used as tools of
communication of documenting and developing the
students’ creativity, who will manifest in an active-
participative manner.
 “The e-learning solutions and the interactive classes thus
come to support the development of a modern educational
system” declared Florin Ilia, Vice President Commercial
Division, SIVECO Romania.
