Make or buy decision depends on (1) matching demand (2) level capacity. In matching demand production capacity is adjusted to match the forecasted demand by varying the level of work force. In level capacity method production capacity is held constant at optimum level . The varying demand can be met by maintaining inventory, overtime, backlog or sub contracting.
