Set Induction
Teacher shows a picture of a duck. Pupils guess the name of the animal.

Step 1
Teacher paste the word and picture cards (duck). Introduce action. ( Teacher makes action as if being punch in the stomach.) Pupils do the action. Teacher asks the pupils to open their mouth just a little and push some air out; repeat a few times. Get the pupils to point to the letter /u/ in the word card.

Step 2
Teacher puts up the lyrics of The Duck Song on the board. Teacher reads the lyrics while pupils listen attentively. Pupils read out the lyrics with teacher repeatedly. Teacher shows picture and word cards (duck, bun, mug, bus, sun). Read aloud the words.

Step 3
Teacher sings the song with actions. Pupils repeat after the teacher with actions. Teacher and pupils sing the song with actions together.

Step 4
Get the pupils to underline the words with the phoneme /u/ in the lyrics. Say the word as they underline it.

Step 5
Get the pupils to sing the song and stress on the words with the phoneme /u/.

Consolidation

Introduce the phoneme /u/ by showing an action. Teacher instruct the pupils to do the action together. Teacher shows the lyrics of the song taught via laptop. Teacher guides pupils to sing with the correct pronunciation.

Introduction: Greeting

Set Induction 1.Teacher shows a mask of a duck. 2.Pupils sing the duck song together once to recall pupils memory.

Step 1 1. Teacher distributes each pupils with an A4 size manila card and a picture of a duck. 2. The pupils colour the picture. Teacher reminds pupils to colour it beautifully. 3. Pupils paste the duck picture on the manilla card.

Step 2 1. Teacher asks pupils to cut out the picture nicely. Reminds pupils to be extra careful while handling the scissors. 2. Shows pupils how to glue the stick behind the mask using celotape. 3. Make a mask based on the picture they cut.

Consolidation 1.Pupils sing the duck song in groups while wearing the mask.

Closure 1.Leave the class by thanking the pupils. 2.Pupils respond appropriately.
