QUESTIONING SKILLS
Lesson starts with discussion using prompts to stimulate questioning. Students start asking questions out of curiosity or seeking clarifications. Students are given encouragement to ask as many questions as possible to build up confidence and critical thinking. Students in groups creating HOT questions and asking other groups.
PROBLEMS
Syllabus content is too enormous thus thinking maps usage is barely catching up with the yearly schedule. Too early to gauge the extent of student and teachers thinking abilities and questioning skill as this develops over time. Teachers are not confident that thinking maps will help their pupils in preparing for the exams.
Teachers are lacking in planning time due to workload and spur-of-the-moment directives. Drive teams ability to assist teachers as they are not expert at all subject matters. Pupils are not responsive to HOT question.
