Control Unit (C-1242) Purpose It provides the main radar operating controls of the Radar sys
control panel
FORWARD
Control Unit (C-1242) Operating Controls Function switch To energize the radar and select the mode of operation OFF :All power is removed except for dial illumination and fuse box. STBY :All circuits except transmitter is ON

13
Control Unit (C-1242) Operating Controls SCAN switch To select type of antenna scan L position: Antenna rotates CCW (10-15 RPM) OFF position: Antenna is stationary R position: Antenna rotates CW (10-15 RPM)
14
PPI position: antenna rotates CW (10-15 or 45 7 RPM) depending on range and mode of operation.
SECTOR: Antenna scans back and fourth across lubber of airplane (10-15 RPM)

19
How we can rotate the Radar transmitting beam ? a b c By transmitting omnidirectional pattern By transmitting from more than one directional antenna By moving radar antenna reflector assembly by changing its transmitting frequency
20
Range of the targets is achieved by ? a b c d Transmitted power Reflection time Receiver sensitivity Receiver gain
21
In R/T 289/APN-59 radar sys, STC, FTC, IAGC circuits are used a b c d To improve stabilization function To increase range To improve video display under normal conditions To improve video display under adverse conditions
22
Q. When SCAN switch is placed on L position, antenna RPM will be a 10 to 15 CW b 38 to 52 CW c 10 to 15 CCW d 38 to 52 CCW
23
How we can detect the targets above or below own A/C altitude ? a By transmitting beam in omnidirectional pattern By transmitting beam from more than one directional antenna By moving radar antenna reflector assembly horizontally By moving radar antenna reflector assembly vertically
