His Childhood
-He was born in 1452 in Vinci. He was the son of Ser Piero and Catarina, a rich Florentine notary and a peasant. Sadly he never met his mother. -His big creativity when he was a child was manifested by drawing mythological animals of his own invention. -Leonardo didnt have any brothers or sisters.

VEROCCHIOS WORKSHOP
-When Leonardo was fourteen, he started working as an pupil in a workshop, where he studied before being recognized as a free artist, he learned painting, sculpture and techniques and mechanics of artistic creation. -When he was young, between fifteen and twenty years old, he helped his teacher with some extraordinary drawings and with other works of his teacher.

-Da Vinci was a very clever man. He studied a lot of different things. Throughout his life he had many jobs. -He was a painter, an inventor, a scientist, an arquitect, and a writer among some others jobs.

His most famous painting was "La Gioconda" also known as "La Monna Lisa" and "Madonna Elisa". Right now this painting is in Paris at the Louvre.

The diving suit

-Da Vinci loved the sea, because of this he made many designs for the submarine exploration. He invented a diving suit. -The suit was made of leather and it had pipes that were connected to the surface. It also had a small bag to urinate in it.

MEDICI FAMILY When Leonardo moved from Milan to Rome he worked for the Medici family. He worked for the Papa Leon X but people didnt like his paintings so he studied hydraulics. He didn't help in the construction of many castles. ORNITHOPTER Leonardo designed a strange object that allowed people to fly with the help of wind. This thing was called an ornithopter. This word comes from Greek, it means "wings of a bird". But Leonardo designed this one that was based on the wings of the bats, now there are many others based on insects or birds.
