ANALYSIS AND RESULT

CONCLUSION

ABSTRACT
The aim of the project is to investigate how the flow around a car. And to see the how much it is possible to reduce the drag .Additionally, the ambition is to obtain an understanding of drag contribution from different areas around the car, and to see where it is possible to gain most drag reduction and increase fuel efficiency.

OBJECTIVE

To find the place where the maximum aerodynamic drag formation in car. To modify the aerodynamic shape of car to reduce the drag

INTRODUCTION

To the impact of rising fuel costs the nations heavy car community is exploring a number of advanced technologies that include aerodynamic drag reduction for the car.

To understand the technical challenge and economic payoff offered by aerodynamic drag reduction. It is important to understand the drag produced by the car.

THE ALTERNATIVE OF CAR

The modification of the shape of the front area and modify the gap between the car and trailer (or) closing the gap. Then develop the trailer body to apply the shape of the tear drop. The main reason of the this modification is reduce the drag value and increase the fuel economic.

RESULT AND DISCUSSION

As mentioned in Sub chapter an aerodynamic adjustment on the car alone can, in a successful case, drag improvement with todays design. During this project the Improvement of the individual trailer design is drag improvements of up to 50% was achieved. So we have achieve the increase the speed and fuel consumption.

CONCLUSIONS AND FUTURE WORK

Aerodynamic trailer design have a great potential of reducing drag. Compared to the car, the trailer is much more susceptible for aerodynamic drag improvements and thus the fuel consumption can be substantially reduced by using trailer devices. By combining the design, even larger drag improvements can be achieved.

To be developed together especially applies to the interface between the cab and the trailer front, but also between the chassis and trailer underbody. A mutual development would make it possible to optimize the integration of these components, which would improve the flow transition and thereby improve both the undercarriage flow and the base flow. Future will reduce the 80% drag in using the change the modification of aerodynamic design.
