Question 3 Focus
Question 3 asks you to identify the viewpoints of the writer, the tone the writing is presented in and the language choices the writer makes to convey them. It is not concerned about the effects on the reader. It also asks you to look structurally at how the ideas are developed throughout the text to convey an overall viewpoint. Why not visit the Comment sections of various websites The Guardian is very good and you will find lots of examples of expressive writing. This will also help you consider your own language choices further and this link is what these activities are about.
