I. Many people consider that Global Warming is the greatest environmental threat of the 21st Century.
II. However, during the 80s and early 90s scientists argued about the causes and effects of global warming.
III. In the late 1990s scientists reached a consensus that global warming was a cause for concern. IV. So, why should you be concerned about global warming?
CARBON DIOXIDE is continuously increasing in the atmosphere due to following reasons:-a) Destruction of trees by deforestation b) Excess use of fossil fuels
c)
2. Under normal conditions, our atmosphere comprises of limited and very small amount of gases like methane, nitrous oxide and other greenhouse gases.. But human activities like setting up of coalfired industries,,planting of rice etc. disturbs the ecobalance.

4. Greenhouse gas Molecules in the Atmosphere emit Infrared radiation Back towards earth
AS COMPARED TO THE DEVELOPING COUNTRIES THE DEVELOPED NATIONS OF THE WORLD HAVE CONTRIBUTED MUCH IN THE TREMENDOUS CARBON EMISSIONS
4.
ETC.ETCETC.
PICTORIAL VIEW:--
Since a couple of decades, there has been a tremendous rise in the sea level
Second, melting ice caps will throw the global ecosystem out of balance. The ice caps are fresh water, and when they melt they will desalinate the ocean, or in plain English - make it less salty. The desalinization of the gulf current will screw up ocean currents, which regulate temperatures. The stream shutdown or irregularity would cool the area around north-east America and Western Europe. Luckily, that will slow some of the other effects of global warming in that area!
Third, global warming could snowball with the ice caps gone. Ice caps are white, and reflect sunlight, much of which is relected back into space, further cooling Earth. If the ice caps melt, the only reflector is the ocean. Darker colors absorb sunlight, further warming the Earth.
Fourth, temperature rises and changing landscapes in the arctic circle will endanger several species of animals. Only the most adaptable will survive
SOLUTIONS:-1) Reducing the rate of emission of harmful gases and carbon emissions
3) Developing substitutes for renewable sources like coal, oil, kerosene lamps etc 4) Climate change education to students by means of activities like urban farming, gardening, etc
5) Governments and corporations must shift away from polluting technologies
