SynopSYS Deployment
Client/Server architecture. The system is installed on the
Server, while end-users are connected via TCP/IP.
The server communicates with the various devices via
TCP/IP using the UPnP protocol

17
SynopSYS Key Differentiators
Hardware agnostic many manufacturers limit the system to
their specific hardware (Siemens, Honeywell, Bosch)
Equally strong in all areas of security, with the intention of
adding drivers for building control - Many other system come
either from Access Control manufacturers, or from CCTV, and
are relatively weak in other areas (Lenel, Bewator)
Reasonably priced for commercial installations - some systems
are over-priced as they are geared towards Homeland Security
(Orsus)
Some other systems come from software houses, without
controller experience
There are many solutions available on the market, so
what makes SynopSYS unique?
18
SynopSYS Key Features
Simple implementation of projects
according to specific requirements:
Full and flexible Integrator Toolbox
Service state logic and behavior can be
managed and customized easily

Hardware agnostic enables
integrators to select the hardware of
their choice according to project
requirements

True open architecture, uses
publicly available standards for all
interfaces
19
Key Features - continued
Full client-server network operation
all modules communicate over the
network

Remote system management

Extensive authorization management

Case Study HaZera Genetics
Background

Hazera Genetics is a world leader in the breeding, production and
marketing of vegetable and field crop hybrid seeds.
Hazera Genetics has 3 sites, each site was managed individually
with different security system and disparate management software,
making it impossible to manage the sites remotely from the
headquarters or to implement company-wide security procedures

Business Challenge

HaZera was looking for a uniform security and site management
system for all their sites, to be managed from ONE software
platform remotely from ONE Control Room.
The software solution should be able to manage and control all
Alarm and monitor the functionality of the CCTV cameras.
35
The Solution

SynopSYS together with RISCO Groups ProSYS Integrated Security
System enables central control of multiple sites from one platform.
Each site includes RISCO Groups ProSYS security Systems and
outdoor and indoor Detectors which can be monitored and
diagnosed remotely.

Key Success Factors

The project was implemented in a easy manner by the integrator
The systems capability for future expansion and simple integration
with additional devices was a key factor in the selection of
SynopSYS

Quote of Integrator (ORAD) The ease of use of the software is unique;
changing or upgrading the configuration according to customer demand
is easily done by drag & drop of components on the synoptic maps.
Quote of HaZera Genetics Security Officer Im very pleased with the
SynopSYS solution; finally I can monitor our security systems intelligently
from one control room and with a user friendly interface.

Summary
For Integrators SynopSYS
enables:
Maximum flexibility for meeting
project requirements
Easy project implementation

For Security Officers
SynopSYS provides:
Efficient Security & Building
Management from ONE platform
Cost Reduction

37
Appendix 1
Open Standards and Protocols
38
Open vs. Proprietary Standards
What does Open really mean?
Non-proprietary protocol, specification is publicly available
Examples of Open Standards
TCP/IP networking standard
The Plug & Play standard for PCs
Examples of closed standards/protocols
Bus communication on almost all Fire, Intruder & A/C systems
39
Benefits of Open Standards
Integration is easier to accomplish

Information from building points (detectors,
heat sensors, doors, etc.) is easily available
and can be put to use

Vendor independence
