1. Committee on Finance and Appropriation and Ways and Means
Jurisdiction: All matters relating to the barangay budget.
2. Committee on Environment and Natural Resources
Jurisdiction: All matters relating to the exploration, development, utilization and
conversion of natural resources; the protection of natural environment.
3. Committee on Human Rights, Children/Women Welfare
Jurisdiction: All matters relating to the general welfare of the human being,
specially women and children.
4. Chairman: Committee on Education
Jurisdiction: All matters relating to education ; formal, non-formal and
community adult education.

5. Committee on Preservation and Enrichment of Culture
Jurisdiction: All matters relating to the preservation of history and culture of the
community.
6. Committee on Youth and Sports Development
Jurisdiction: All matters relating to the youth and sports development.
7. Committee on Peace and Order and Public Safety
Jurisdiction: All matters relating to the maintenance of Peace and Order and
Public Safety.
8. Chairman: Committee on Infrastructure, Public Works & Highways
Jurisdiction: All matters relating to planning, construction, maintenance,
improvement and repair of public buildings.

9. Committee on Economic Enterprise
Jurisdiction: All matters relating to economic activities in the community.
10. Committee on Agriculture
Jurisdiction: Agricultural education and production.
11. Committee on Good Governance
Jurisdiction: All matters regarding to the local governance of the barangay.
12. Committee on Nutrition Health and Sanitation
Jurisdiction: All matters relating to the improvement and development of public
health.

Spirit of Volunteerism
Who are these Barangay Volunteers?
Honorarium
A voluntary payment that is given
to a person for services for which
fees are not legally or traditionally
required. Honoraria are typically
used to help cover costs for
volunteers.
Volunteer
By definition, "volunteerism is the willingness of people to work on behalf of
others without the expectation of pay or other tangible gain". Simply said,
"it is offering oneself without payment in return".
Spirit of Volunteerism
The traditional barrios strength lay in the
peoples pride of place, solidarity, mutual
trust, and spirit of volunteerism.

BARANGAY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (BDC) SEC 107 LGC
Mobilize peoples participation in local development efforts;
Prepare barangay development plan based on local requirements;
Barangay Disaster Coordinating Committee (BDCC)
Formulates Disaster Preparedness Plan
Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC)
Implement and Protect the 7 Universal Rights of the Children.
Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC)
Plan, strategize, implement and evaluate programs and projects on drug abuse
preventions in the barangay;
LUPONG TAGAPAMAYAPA (LT)
Exercise administrative supervision over the conciliation panels
Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC)
Ensures the formulation, implementation, supervision and evaluation of the
barangay nutrition program and look for funds for such programs.
Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT)
Ensures the Emergency assistance and monitoring on outbreak diseases.
Barangay Ecological Solid Waste Management Committee (BESWMC)
Formulate a community solid waste management program, consistent with that of the
city/municipality, with policies and plans include strategies such as education, engineering,
enforcement and entrepreneurial;
Barangay Human Rights Action Center (BHRAC)
Complaints Processing regarding Human Rights violations and IEC.
Barangay Peace and Order Council (BPOC)
Initiate, coordinate and monitor the implementation of peace and order programs and
projects at the barangay level;
Participation
of
NGOs, POs, CSOs
in the Barangay
It is not merely a partner of the
people; it obliges the different
groups to participate in
consultations.

The Local Government Code defines

Government Organizations and Peoples
