Noah

He Knows My Name
By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things
not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared
an ark for the saving of his household, by
which he condemned the world and became
heir of the righteousness which is according to
faith. Hebrews 11:7
Noah condemned the CONDUCT of his
contemporaries by the contrast which his own
faith presented.
In other words it was a clash of unbelief vs belief.
The outcome was he became an heir or rather
owner of spiritual blessings.
THUS:
But without faith it is impossible to please
Him, for he who comes to God must believe
that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those
who diligently seek Him. Heb.11:6
Two MOST important facts about God:
1. He exists
2. He is rewarder of those
Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man
was great in the earth, and that every intent
of the thoughts of his heart was only evil
continually. Gen.6:5
evil a very interesting word
ra and means bad, harmful, hurtful,
From the root raa(raw-ah) to spoil, to make
or be good for nothing, idea of being worth-
less, not for intended purpose
Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man
was great in the earth, and that every intent
of the thoughts of his heart was only evil
continually. And the Lord was sorry that He
had made man on the earth, and He was
grieved in His heart.
This wickedness in Noahs day was a form of
atheism that resulted in mans rejection of
God.
The resulting dis-belief in God led to radical
departure from goodness and moral living

Matt.24:36-39
But of that day and hour no one knows, not
even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
But as the days of Noah were, so also will the
coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days
before the flood, they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage, until the day
that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until
the flood came and took them all away, so also
will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Here is Gods perspective on Noahs day AND
ours!
Note the NATURE of the day
What is wrong with marriage, eating, and
drinking?
What was Jesus really saying? What was He
warning about?

Jesus was not condemning eating, drinking,
and marriage.
He was addressing how when man ignores
God, living as God does not exist, ALL
meaning and life purpose is lost.
The basis of all goodness and morality
becomes lost in relativity and confusion
There is a battle today over the existence of
God. It is being fought in the most evil
rooms on the planet:
CLASS rooms
COURT rooms
CONGRESSIONAL rooms
In these places the existence of God is being
denied, it is being replaced with humanism,
secularism, relativism.
Humanism: a system of values and beliefs that
is based on the idea that man is basically good
and he can solve his own problems without
any outside influence(God)
Secularism: a worldview that allows NO ROOM
for the supernatural: no miracles, no divine
revelation, no God.
Relativism: the view that something is relative
rather than absolute. The idea that what may be
true for you is not true for me. Moral principles,
religious beliefs, and truth is at best relative.
The church has to do a better job arming our
youth to fight this insidious enemy in there
classrooms.
Over 40% of our youth LEAVE the faith after
entering college.
Many who stay are in church but there faith has
been shaken and they live as though Gods
existence doesnt really matter.
The millennials are leaving the church by the
millions as a recent trend according to Barna
Reasons:
1. Individualism
2. Consumerism
3. Nominalism

Hebrews 11:7
[Prompted] by faith Noah, being forewarned by God
concerning events of which as yet there was no visible
sign, took heed and diligently and reverently
constructed and prepared an ark for the deliverance of
his own family. By this [his faith which relied on God]
he passed judgment and sentence on the worlds
unbelief and became an heir and possessor of
righteousness ([c]that relation of being right into which
God puts the person who has faith).
But without faith it is impossible to please
Him, for he who comes to God must believe
that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those
who diligently seek Him.
God is calling the church and Christians to
move from dabbling to devotion, from
transience to permanence, from preference to
proximity, from beliefs to practices.
What do we actually have to change about the
way we live our lives, not just about the way we
think? And not just one or two of our practices.
What, in our actual lives, has to change so God's
dream for the Church and the world can be
realized. You have to evaluate not just the surface
levels or practices or habits, you have to examine
the framework.
Thus Noah did; according to all that God
commanded him, so he did. Gen.6:22
This wasnt a moment, a day, or even a week.
It was 120 years, 43,800 days, 1,051,200 hours
Your life will not be defined by what you did on
the mountains of momentary rush, but by the
walking out of everyday simple love.
