There are 21 operating in
the city.
o LCB announced results of retail marijuana lottery
on May 2

. Results are below.

There have been 36 applications received by the
Liquor Control Board for producer licenses in the
City of Spokane.
Three of these stores proposed locations violate Spokane
Municipal Code for zoning, leaving 33 applications that
are compliant.

There have been 37 applications received by the

City of Spokane.
One of these stores proposed locations violate Spokane

o Liquor Control Board has filed an interim rule (BIP-
09-2014). They are accepting input on the rule until
July 18
th
.
o The first retail testing lab, Analytical 360, based out
of Yakima is poised to begin testing soon.
o Retail stores will be opening in July. The first retail
store to open in Spokane will be ONeill Industries.
o Tourism industry already starting to build up.
o Canna-Con coming to Tacoma in August. Billed as the Nations
Largest Cannabis Expo on their website.
o Kush Tourism: Seattle-based marijuana tourism company. $150
per person.
o Canna-Bus: Seattle cannabis culture tour. $100 per person.
o Social Clubs: BoomersBuds, Mary Jane Members Association.

Marijuana Tourism
in WA State
o Two lawsuits will make their way through court
which could have significant impacts on I-502:
o Lawsuit in Chelan Superior Court against the City of Wenatchee by
someone seeking a retail license. City will not issue city business
licenses unless people are compliant with federal law however.
Depending on arguments used by Wenatchee, the case could go
multiple ways.
o Lawsuit in federal court is challenging WA State ability to tax
marijuana as long as it is illegal federally. Dispensary owner in the
case is being prosecuted by the feds for distribution *and*
targeted by the WA Dept. of Revenue for not paying taxes on the
sales of marijuana products.

o Numerica announced it will serve producers
and processors, but not retailers. Among the
rules the credit union have for these
accounts:
o Each marijuana business bank account will be limited to $5 million
in total deposits.
o No debit or credit cards will be issued for the account.
o No remote deposit capture.
o All deposits made in person. No night deposits.
o Account holders have to live in an area where Numerica has a
branch.
o No access to shared-network banking.

Colorado Update
o Lawsuit filed in Denver District Court asking for
an injunction on Colorado ability to collect
taxes on marijuana. Similar to WA State
lawsuit.
o New retail tax/revenue data:
- Total sales and excise taxes on recreational
marijuana stand at around $11 million
through April.
- Recreational stores sold $22 million in
products in April, an increase over previous
months.
