Una revisin sistemtica mostro que una estrategia restrictiva de transfusin, disminuy el uso de hemoderivados, sin modificar desenlaces de estancia hospitalaria, eventos cardiovasculares ni mortalidad.
El estudio CRIT mostr aumento de la tasa de complicaciones, estancia hospitalaria, incluso mortalidad en pacientes transfundidos.
