Environmental Impact
Non-renewable energy resources have a negative effect on the
environment.
Burning oil and natural gas emit carbon dioxide and other
pollutants, contributing to global climate change.
In addition, coal processing plants leach toxic metals into
ground and water.
Running out of non-renewable
resources
World is consuming more non-renewable resources and finding
less.
Solar Energy and How It Works
Solar power is the energy from the sun.

This energy can be converted into other forms of energy,
such as heat and electricity.

Solar Cells
Solar cells are devices that convert light energy
directly into electrical energy.

These cells use semiconductors.
Solar Panels
Solar panels do not generate electricity directly.
Instead they heat up water directly.

Wind Energy
Wind is a renewable energy source because the wind will blow as long as
the sun shines.

Just like windmills, todays wind turbines use blades to collect the winds
kinetic energy.
The wind flows over the blades creating lift, like the effect on airplane
wings, which causes them to turn. The blades are connected to a drive
shaft that turns an electric generator to produce electricity.
Geothermal Energy
In some places the rocks underground are hot. It returns to
the surface as hot water and steam, where its energy can be
used to drive turbines and electricity generators.
Hydro Energy
Hydropower or water power is power derived from the energy of falling
water.
Though some flowing areas were made intentionally for this renewable
energy source but this is capable of destroying natural habitats and
biodiversity of aquatic animals.
A solution has been made for fish that migrate up stream to spawn; it is
called a fish ladder.
Biomass Energy
Biomass is organic material made from plants and animals
(microorganisms)that contains stored energy from the sun. Plants
absorb the energy through photosynthesis. The chemical energy in
plants gets passed on to animals and people that eat them.
When burned, the chemical energy in biomass is released as heat.
If you have a fireplace, the wood you burn in it is a biomass fuel.
Conclusions

This world does not belong to us only, it belongs to everyone.
So, we have to take care of it for the future generations.

Only when the last tree will be cut, the last river will be
poisoned and the last fish will be caught, we will realize that
we cannot eat money.
