As a part of partial fulfillment of the requirements
of the course for BSc. I

Science and Information Technology, we have
prepared a Student Information Management
System
As the name suggests, this system is capable of
Viewing, Creating, Editing, Deleting, Updating,
Appending, Filtering and Classifying records
made by it.
It is developed in Ms.Access as a system with the
application of simple techniques of manipulating
data contained therein.
It is intended for use by educational institutions.

Salient features of SIMS
Replaces traditional Paper Fillup application forms with
digital one.
Makes use of lookup and preset values in combo box and
list box to create dropdown menu and columnar
information display respectively.
It is a simple emulation of a real student data entry form.
Hence, it provides related information such as Course
Details, Teacher List and Subject List along with the main
objective i.e. Student Data Entry and Manipulation.
Form is used as a switchboard which acts as a
navigational unit and makes tasks easier with buttons.
Easier Documentation: Hardcopy documentation is still
necessary for many official purposes. Data can be entered
in the input form and a the result can be generated
instantaneously. The result is also available for printing
with the press of a single button.

PROBLEMS FACED
Following problems were faced during the making
of this
project:
Procedures of creating a combo box and list box
Associating combo box with manual and list box
with lookup values
Ms. Access does not normally allow the calling of
Delete Query with the help of buttons. This was
achieved by changing values in the properties
sheet.

LIMITATIONS
Vulnerable to security breach
No Login/Password feature
Not Autonomous Program
Created without the use of VB or Macros i.e.
Simple program which significantly reduced the
potential of dealing problems with greater
efficiency.
Not associated with account management and
various other systems that are generally
associated with a students information
management system in an educational institution,

FUTURE ENANCEMENTS
To put a login window and password in order to
maintain security.
To implement data prediction technique.
To add several more components to address all
the information related to the student from the
accounts details to the bills due in any
educational institution.

CONCLUSION
Hence, we prepared this IT-Project for the
fulfilment of course of BSc.CSIT in co-operation
with friends and seniors as well as Er. Rajan
Karmacharya who has vast knowledge in this
field.
We have tried our best to make the project free of
errors but some minor infractions might have
crept in.
Therefore, we conclude that a complete dbms
system is very difficult to achieve without proper
knowledge and effort.
