HR planning is the process by which an
organisation should move from its current
manpower position to its desired manpower
position.

Definition by U.S.Dept. of Labour:

The process of determining by observation and
study and reporting pertinent information relating to
the nature of a specific job. It is the determination of
tasks which comprise the job and of the skills,

the worker for a successful performance and
differentiate one job from all others.
