The Islamic Concept of Life
Basic Principles
the God the creator, the ruler and the
Lord of the universe.
God alone was the Lord.
God set man on earth as vicegerence.
God did not destroy them or force them to
take the right course.
God sent prophets as a guidance to
humans.
Iman: Its Nature And Character
The nature of the relationship which comes
into existence between man and God
because of Iman is called a bargain.
Allah is not a mere metaphysical concept.
Everything in this world belongs to Allah.
The Moral System of Islam
The Islamic Concept of life and morality
Course of life for man is to live in complete
obedience to Allah.
Man is answerable to God for all his actions
and will be called on to render an account
of them in the Hereafter.
Essential Features of the
Islamic Political System

Based on three systems :
Tawhid (unity of God)
Risalat (prophethood)
Khilafat (vicegerency)
The Islamic Social Order

and principles.

maintain order and discipline as the head.
Father is responsible as the central authority of the
family for disciplinary purpose.

helpful and to share each others sorrows and
happiness.
The Economic Principle of
Islam
Right of Property
All economics policies must be follow the
rights conferred by the Shariah.
Islamic state have to protect the legal rights
of individuals and, at the same time to
compel them to fulfil their obligations to the
community as enjoined by law.
The Problem of Equality
Islam does not agree with those who want
to enforce complete equality in respect of
the means of production and the fruits of
economic endeavour.
Effort should be rewarded and laziness
penalised.
Social Justice
Aims at creating a feeling of mutual love
and affection among people.
Help their weak and weary brethren, and at
the same time create a permanent
institution in society .
Islam aims at striking a balance between
the individual and the community.
Example : Zakat.
Obligations and Restrictions
Islam condemns as illegal all those means
of livelihood which injure, morally or
materially, the interests of another individual
or of society.
Example : Manufacture and sale of liquor
and other intoxicants, adultery, professional
dancing , gambling, transactions of a
speculative or fraudulent nature.
The Spiritual Path of Islam
Body-soul Conflict
Body and soul are mutually antagonistic, and can
develop only at each others expense. The body is a
prison of the soul and the activities of daily life are the
shackles which keep it in bondage and arrest its growth.
This conflict resulted in the evolution for the perfection of
man that is one should be surrounded by material
comfort and regard himself as nothing but an animal.
Islamic viewpoint differs radically from these approaches
because based on Islam, Allah sent human as his
Khalifah in this world that has certain responsibilities and
obligations to be fulfilled. The body is not a prison for the
soul, but its workshop or factory for the soul to grow.
Criterion of Spiritual Development
The sphere of activity of the religious man
and the secular man is the same.
In fact, the religious man will work with
greater enthusiasm than the secular man.
What will distinguish their actions will be the
nature of their relationship with god and the
aims behind their actions.
