DBA RATING SCALE
1 : I did not understand this module at all and cannot
explain it confidently.
2: I did not understand most of the module and would
have trouble explaining it confidently.
3: I understood all or most of the module, but may have
trouble explaining it confidently.
4: I understand all of the module, and can explain it
confidently.
Learning Goals: Seg. 1
Module 1:
Students will be able to
understand and recall how to use
order of operations to solve
problems, and how to perform
operations which contain
decimals and integers.
Module 2:
Students will explain the steps to
simplifying a variable expression,
provide phrases used to indicate
various different operations, translate
variable expressions, and identify
how to identify like terms.
Module 3:
Students will be able to explain
how to compare and order
fractions, convert fractions and
decimals, and how prime
factorization relates to finding the
GCF.
Module 4:
Students will be able to explain
the reciprocal of a number and
how to find it and how to add,
subtract, multiply and divide
fractions with both like and unlike
denominators by providing
examples.
Segment Exam:
Students will be able to
successfully complete all
remaining assignments and the
segment exams.
Learning Goals: Seg. 2
Module 5:
Students will be able to write, solve, and
graph one and two step linear equations
and inequalities, work backwards with
two-step function rules to undo
expressions, use the properties of
equality to represent an equation in a
different way, and solve non-routine
problems by working backwards.
Module 6:
Students will be able to construct and analyze
tables, graphs, and equations to describe linear
functions, determine the measure of central
tendency and variability given set of data, select
and analyze measures of central tendency or
variability to represent, describe, analyze and/or
summarize a data set, and identify and plot ordered
pairs in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane.

Module 7:
Students will be able to use reasoning about
multiplication and division to solve ratio and
rate problems, interpret, compare ratio and
rates, use equivalent forms of fractions,
decimals, percents, estimate the results of
computations with fractions, decimals, and
percents, and solve percent problems
involving discounts, simple interest, taxes,
tips and percents of increase or decrease.
Module 8:
Students will be able to solve a problem given
a formula, understand the concept of , find
the circumference and area of circles, find the
perimeter and area of composite two-
dimensional figures, determine the missing
dimension of a plane figure or prism, use
formulas to find surface areas and volume of
three-dimensional composite shapes.
Segment Exam:
Students will be able to
successfully complete all
remaining assignments and the
segment exams.
