Fruit By-products
a) Fruit Peels and Cores
- Can be used for the production of wine , vinegar or jelly
stock. For vinegar, the fruit peels are crashed and pressed to
extract the juice, which is then used and processed into vinegar.
b) Pineapples Waste
- This is composed of the trimmings from flesh, which is
pressed, filtered and treated with lime. The lime-treated juice
extracted is decolorized, concentrated and blended to make syrup
used in pineapple canning or to make vinegar.
c) Fruit Pits
- Can be used as manufacture of fixed oil, bitter-almond oil
or macaroni paste.
d) Grape Waste
- It can be used from juice factories and wineries and can be
used to produce grape juice and wine. The stems of the grapes are
ground and extracted with boiling water.

(Elais guineensis Jacq) belongs to the same
family of palms as the coconut.

Palm Kernel Oil
(PKO) closely resembles coconut oil in its
composition and used in the production of
vegetable oil-based oleo-chemicals found in
soap, detergents and plastics.
Soybean
Best known for its high protein content, it is also low in saturated fat,
cholesterol free, high in dietary fiber and rich in vitamins and minerals.
Important role in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease.
Soy protein
- Easily absorbed by the body, and has only a fraction of calories and
fat and none of the cholesterol found in most animal proteins.

- Economical source of protein and has competed successfully against
other protein materials like fish and animal meat.
