Course Content Cadets must complete the following three Units Unit 1 - The Public Services Unit 2 - Public Service Skills Unit 3 - Public Service Fitness
Cadets must also complete three of the following four Units Unit 7 - Outdoor Activities & the Public Services Unit 9 - Land Navigation with Map & Compass Unit 14 - Expedition Skills Unit 15 - Fundamentals of Nautical Studies
Unit 1 - IVA Content This unit is set out as a series of four tasks in which cadets must research the Armed Public Services and provide information on the following:
Task 1. Their primary role and examples of tasks they perform 2. Specific jobs and the conditions of service 3. Entry requirements and stages of the selection process 4. Initial training and long term career planning Relevant Qualifications:
RYA Level 2 (Power or Sail)
RYA Day Skipper (practical)
RYA Day Skipper (shorebased) Unit 15 Fundamentals of Nautical Studies Each Unit, and the overall Award will be graded:

Registration process Cadets must understand the commitment and be prepared to complete the programme These selected Cadets fill in the current Application Form (VQF1) Form checked and signed by their unit BTEC Officer Application form sent via their Area to CVQO

VQR001 Feedback to Units Supporting Documents This is to certify that CVQO Contact with Registered Cadets CVQO will make direct contact with your cadets as follows: Letter of Welcome Progress Letters in May/June & Dec/Jan (copied to Unit) Emails from cadets Completion Letter showing BTEC Unit grades (copied to Unit) End of Course feedback request. BTEC First Diploma in Music Step Forward, Stand Out Cadet Involvement A total of 100 Trial Candidates have been sourced for the 2005/06 trial via the Directors of Music from each Cadet Force.
The Diploma will be available to all Cadets involved in Cadet Force music from September 2006.
Cadets must complete 5 Units: Unit B2 - Music In Business Unit B3 - Understanding Music Theory Unit B4 - Performance (entirely practical based on Cadet Syllabi) Unit B5 - Composition FMP - Performance project.
